Commemorative 1937 George VI Coronation Medal


Crafted from solid silver, this medal was issued to mark the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on 12 May 1937 and was the personal gift of the sovereign to members and servants of the Royal Household and to members of the armed forces, governments and elected holders of office throughout the Empire and Dominions.

In all, 90,279 were manufactured; all those issued were unnamed.

Comes with red presentation box bearing the years 1910 to 1935; the years his father King George V was on the throne.

This piece is a wonderful addition to any royal memorabilia or medal collection!

Medal measures 3.1cm diameter, 7.5cm length with ribbon.
